Elle Fanning reflects on teaming up sister Dakota Fanning for ‘Nightingale’
Elle Fanning never shared screen with her sister Dakota Fanning in her 24-year-old career
Elle Fanning weighed in on how is it like to work along with her sister on set of The Nightingale.
Dakota began acting at age of five in ER, but she rose to fame from her breakthrough performance at the age of seven in I Am Sam. Meanwhile, Elle gave her debut performce in I Am Sam, at age of two, as younger version of Dakota.
Years later the sisters have reunited again to share silver screen together.
In an interview with Vouge, Elle revealed how she and her sister decided to star in the film.
"Kristin Hannah's bestselling book is a force of nature. It is the perfect film to be in together for the first time because it is the ultimate sister story about 2 women fighting in different ways," she said.
Explaining the personalities of both the characters, the Maleficent actress added, "One is resisting loudly. One quietly, but both just as strong."
"It has been a goal of Dakota and I'd for a very long time, and we are both over the moon it is finally happening next year!" Elle added.
Previously when the film was announced the sisters in a joint statement on the Entertainment Weekly, said, "The Nightingale will be the first time we act on screen together. We have played the same character at different ages but have never spoken to each other in front of a camera."
"For years, we have looked for a film to do with one another and then this gem appeared," they added.
Nightingale is set to release on February 12, 2027.
