Kim Kardashian gives insight into her, AI's 'frenemy' relation

Kim Kardashian is opening up about her experience using artificial intelligence to study for her law exams — and admits it didn’t go quite as planned.

During a recent Vanity Fair lie detector test interview, the reality star and aspiring attorney, 45, revealed that she turned to ChatGPT for legal help, only to find the generative AI tool may have done more harm than good.

Speaking with her All’s Fair costar Teyana Taylor, Kardashian was asked if she uses ChatGPT for “life advice,” “dating advice,” or as “a friend.”

After denying all three, she confessed she does use it for “legal advice.” “When I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there. It has made me fail tests ... all the time,” Kardashian said. “And then I’ll get mad and I’ll yell at it.”

Taylor jokingly asked, “So she’s a frenemy?” to which Kardashian replied, “Yes, a frenemy. And then it’ll say back to me, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. So you knew the answer all along.’” Taylor responded, “So she clocked you,” prompting Kardashian to agree, “Clocked me.”

Taylor then quipped, “So, technically, you and ChatGPT are friends, just toxic friends,” with Kardashian laughing in agreement. “But they need to do better because I’m leaning to them to really help me and she is teaching me a life lesson and then becoming my therapist to tell me why I need to believe in myself after they got the answer wrong,” Kardashian said.

“It’s like a thing. I screenshot all the time and send it in my group chat. Like, can you believe this bitch is talking to me like this? This is insane.”

Kardashian stars alongside Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, and Niecy Nash-Betts in All’s Fair, a new Hulu series centered on an all-female law firm led by divorce attorneys. The show premieres Tuesday, November 4.
