Julia Fox made a bold move as she attended this year’s Halloween party wearing an outfit that garnered criticism.
The Uncut Gems star showed up at a gathering in New York City on October 30, dressed as former First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis on the day of her husband resident John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
Her outfit replicated the First Lady’s infamous pink suit with fake blood stains.
“I’m dressed as Jackie Kennedy in the pink suit. Not as a costume, but as a statement”, Fox wrote on her Instagram.
Soon after she uploaded her picture, Onassis’ grandson Jack Schlossberg took it to his X to express his reaction over Julia’s bold outfit choice.
He wrote, “Julia Fox glorifying political violence is disgusting, desperate and dangerous. I’m sure her late grandmother would agree.”
Fox has now come forward to defend her look by saying that the pink with fake blood is “one of the most haunting juxtapositions in modern history.”
For the unversed, Jackie wore the pink suit on the assassination day of John F. Kenndey and she refused to change her clothes when standing next to Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson during his swearing-in ceremony.
Therefore, Julia further praised the former First Lady and calling it “as an act of extraordinary bravery.”
“It was performance, protest, and mourning all at once. A woman weaponizing image and grace to expose brutality. It’s about trauma, power, and how femininity itself is a form of resistance”, wrote Fox.
