Jennifer Lawrence admits being controlled by 'intrusive thoughts'
Jennifer Lawrence has opened about her struggles with postpartum depression after she gave birth to her second baby.
The 35-year-old tied the knot with Cooke Maroney in 2019. The duo welcomed their first child Cy in 2022.
Earlier this year, the couple announced the birth of their second child. However, they have chose to keep further details about the kid personal.
In a candid chat at The Interview podcast on November 1, The Hunger Games star shared intimate details about experiencing postpartum depression.
Jennifer had a positive experience following her first pregnancy. However, the second one was nothing like the first one.
Labelling her postpartum after second baby as the ‘dark phase’, the Passengers actress revealed that she had "nonstop intrusive thoughts."
“I felt like a tiger was chasing me every day. I had so much anxiety”, she said while adding, “I had nonstop intrusive thoughts that I was at the whim of. They controlled me.”
Lawrence confessed that she would picture every "worst-case scenario" that eventually led her to self-doubt. Therefore, Jennifer took help from medications and therapy sessions.
“I was already in therapy, but I got on a drug called Zurzuvae and I took it for two weeks and it really helped”, she said.
