Dave Franco, who is the brother of James and Tom Franco, has unveiled the term of nepotism doesn’t really apply to him.

The 40-year-old kickstarted his career with small roles in films like Superbad. He got his breakthrough after bagging a supporting role in 21 Jump Street.

Despite having a two-time Emmy nominee brother, Dave opened that nobody was considering him for work even though everybody knew he was James’ little brother.

The Regretting You star added, “No one was going to hire me just because I was James Franco’s little brother.”

He continued, “If I sucked, I would’ve disappeared very quickly.”

However, Franco gives credit to his elder brother for helping him get an agent and kickstarting his career in Hollywood.

Currently, the Neigbors actor is sure that James would be proud of his success.

“At this point, I think he’s excited just to see me trying new things and to see me grow”, Dave told Bustle.

Today, Franco is known for being a part of many popular films like Now You See Me, Nerve, Together, Day Shift and many more. He also made a cameo appearance in Seth Rogen’s series The Studio.

Dave’s latest film Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is set to hit theatres on November 14.
