'Stranger Things' season 5 trailer: Vecna brings Upside Down army to Hawkins
'Stranger Things' season 5 will premiere in three volumes, with the finale premiering on New Year's Eve
Stranger Things is ending right where it all began — in Hawkins.
Netflix dropped the trailer for the fifth and final season of its blockbuster sci-fi hit on October 30, promising an emotional and action-packed conclusion to the story that began nearly a decade ago.
The preview opens on a haunting Hawkins, now under military quarantine after Vecna’s devastating attack in Season 4.
Viewers get quick flashes of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) battling the forces of the Upside Down, emotional moments with Steve (Joe Keery) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), and Nancy Wheeler (Natalie Dyer) and Jonathan Byers (Charlie Heaton) embracing for possibly the last time.
In a blood-curdling moment, Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) gets Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) back in his grasp as he threatens, “William, you are going to help me. One. Last. Time.”
'Stranger Things' Season 5 release date
According to Netflix, Stranger Things will be released in three “volumes.” The first, with four episodes, premieres November 26, followed by three more on Christmas Day. The finale drops December 31, i.e., New Year's Eve, closing out the year — and the series — in epic fashion.
The feature-length finale will be available to watch in theatres starting December 31 running through January 1, 2026.
