Colin Farrell 'bets against' The Penguin season 2
Colin Farrell to play unusual role in upcoming Netflix movie
Colin Farrell, the Academy nominated actor, has released a shocking statement about The Penguin season 2.
The 49-year-old Irish actor has earned a massive popularity after playing DC villain Oz Cobb aka Penguin in 2022’s The Batman movie.
Later, his character got it very own miniseries of named The Penguin, backed by HBO Max, which also bagged 2025Emmy Awards in multiple categories.
After the success of the show, fans have been eagerly waiting for the renewal of the series for another season.
Previously, the makers revealed that they would only make a new season if Farrell agrees to return.
Seemingly, the Golden Globe winner has dashed down the chances of his return, not because he is not interested in wearing Cobb’s makeup again, but Colin thinks that no storyline can justify about Penguin.
In a statement, the In Bruges actor stated, “I know that the powers that be are thinking of storylines that could justify another eight hours because it all goes off Mat Reeves’ world.”
“It conveniently worked that the death at the end of The Batman and the devastation within Gotham opened up a power vacuum that then Oz could try and capitalize on. That was perfect for the parallel eight hours that we had”, said Farrell.
He said that he wouldn’t want another season of the Penguin as he won’t bet on it. “I kind of bet against, but not by a wide mark,” reported Den of Geek.
Work wise, Colin is all set to star in an unusual role in upcoming Netflix film, Ballad of A Small Player.
