Cynthia Erivo explains real reason behind her unique look
‘Wicked’ actress expresses gratitude to Jada Pinkett Smith about finding fame later in life
Cynthia Erivo has recently spilled the beans about her unique look.
The Wicked star explains the real reason behind shaving her head in a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
The Harriet actress says, “This is what I want to look like. I love a heel, I love a nail, I love a jaw, I love a bald head, I love a good outfit.”
“It is legitimately a way of just expressing parts of myself,” remarks the 38-year-old.
Cynthia points out that if “it’s the only thing I put into this world, that everyone’s individual beauty is worth seeing and experiencing, and you don’t have to change it for anyone else other than yourself, then I’m happy”.
“If you want to change and you want to get a new nose, you want to get new lips, fine. If that’s good for you, then that’s good for you—as long as it’s for you,” notes the Pinocchio actress.
Elsewhere in the interview, Cynthia opens up about navigating the pressures of stardom after she discovers fame later in life.
The Outsider actress expresses her gratitude to Jada Pinkett Smith who she considers a “dear sister”.
“I've been checking in on her a lot. A lot of times, it's difficult if you haven't been through something like that, being popped into stardom in a certain manner,” mentions Cynthia.
Meanwhile, the actress further says how she finds herself right now.
“If that's good for you, then that's good for you – as long as it's for you,” adds Cynthia.
