Emma Thompson lose patience over Artificial Intelligence: ‘So annoyed’
Emma Thompson slammed Artificial Intelligence on affecting her creative process and meddling in her work.
Thompson, who is also a writer and producer, discussed the deep resentment she feels towards the advance technology.
During her appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, to promote her new series, Down Cemetery Road, the Cruella actress said that she feels "intense irritation" towards AI.
"Because I write longhand on a pad. Old script, actually. Because I believe that there’s a connection between the brain and the hand," she said.
The host echoed her notion, noting that he too needs to write things down by hand in order to "memorise" lines.
The Sense and Sensibility star further explained her frustration, adding, "When I’ve written something, I will put it into a word document. And, recently, the word document is constantly saying, 'Would you like me to rewrite that for you?'"
Thompson angrily continued, "so, I just end up going, ‘I don’t need you to f–king rewrite what I’ve just written. Will you f–k off? Just f–k off.’ I’m so annoyed."
'Down Cemetery Road' plot
The thriller series follows a house explosion in quite Oxford suburb, after which a girl went missing. The neighbour, Sarah Tucker (Ruth Wilson), becomes obsessed with finding the girl and enlists the help of a private investigator Zoe Boehm (Thompson).
