'It: Welcome to Derry' cast reveals reaction of seeing Bill Skarsgård as 'Pennywise' on set
Bill Skarsgård was kept hidden on the set of 'It' prequel series
Bill Skarsgård has once again reprised his terrifying role of Pennywise in the new drama series, It: Welcome to Derry.
The first episode has officially been released and has become the talk of the town due to its unexpected twist and turns.
The 35-year-old Swedish actor, who previously played the hideous clown in Stephen King films in 2017 and 2019, has reprised the role again in the prequel series.
It turns out seeing him dressed as Pennywise is not only frightening for the viewers, but the cast members working on the show were also terrified of him on set.
In a recent interview, the young cast members revealed that the makers intentionally kept Bill hidden during shoot as they wanted to see actors' reactions as they encounter latter in full costume.
Amanda Christine, who plays Ronnie in the show, said, “We kind of got glimpses of him here and now and then, but once we got to that official scene, when we got to see him, it was so scary because he's tall, his outfit, plus the head, and sometimes he had teeth and, like, blood.”
Meanwhile, Blake James called the Nosferatu actor’s get up as “terrifying”.
He told Radio Times that his portrayal is scary, “Not only is his makeup crazy scary, his facial movements are wicked as well."
"He's six foot five, so you're like, looking up at him. It's terrible, I don't wish that on anybody", added James.
Welcome to Derry's second episode is set to air on HBO Max on Halloween.
