‘The Batman: Part II’ co-writer eyes Tobey Maguire ‘Spider-Man’ part 4
Mattson Tomlin teases plot he has in mind for the fourth instalment on ‘Spider-Man’
Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man film has seemingly got an interesting plotline for its fourth Instalment.
The Batman: Part II co-writer Mattson Tomlin pitched his idea of what he would like to see in the life of Maguire's Peter Parker.
The buzz around fourth part began in July, when fan on X (formerly Twitter) asked him "to write a screenplay, would you have interest or a vision for your take on Spider-Man? If so, what do you find interesting about the character?"
At that time, Tomlin replied, "Honestly right now my main interest in this respect would be to write a Spider-Man 4 where Tobey’s Spider-Man is juggling being a husband and a father."
He added, "Spider-Man as a father is where I gravitate towards given the last 8 films."
Recently another fan asked if there was "any movement" on new film, to which Tomlin said, "Slow and steady wins the race.
"There won’t be anything to say about that for a long time (if ever!) because it involves a lot of people and politics and things going right that have nothing to do with me, but I haven’t gotten a 'no' yet!"
Tobey Maguire’s ‘Spider-Man’
Maguire starred in 2002's Sami Raimi’s film alongside Kirsten Dunst, who played his love interest Mary Jane Watson, Wilem Dafoe (Green Goblin/ Norman Osborn) and James France as Peter's best friend and Norman's son, Harry Osborn.
Following the first part, two massively successful sequels followed in 2004 and 2007. Maguire later appeared in 2021 MCU's Spider-Man: No Way Home, alongside Tom Holland and Andrew Garfield (Amazing Spider-Man), as a multiverse event.
