Johnny Depp has recently gushed over his longtime collaborator Tim Burton.

The actor reflected on working with the movie-maker as he recalled his filming days for 2007 movie, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street at a time when his daughter Lily-Rose Depp developed a serious illness at age seven.

In Tara Wood’s four-part docuseries, Tim Burton: Life in the Line, the Pirates of the Caribbean star revealed that he considered the director a “part of my family”.

“Tim made huge sacrifices on Sweeney,” said the 62-year-old mainly because his daughter Lily-Rose, who was only seven at the time, developed a form of kidney failure during that movie's production.

Johnny mentioned that her daughter’s “kidneys were shutting down. She had contracted E. coli”.

“They put her on dialysis, and I had to call Tim and basically say, 'Hey man, I'm going to have to drop out of Sweeney,” pointed out the Edward Scissorhands actor.

Johnny shared that he said “sorry” to the movie cast and crew but the actor made it clear that he won’t work until his daughter feels better.

Therefore, the Charlie And the Chocolate Factory actor remembered what Tim said at the time.

“No. Don't even talk like that, man. Whatever we have to do, we'll do. She's going to be fine. We'll make it work,” stated the director while speaking to Johnny,

The Alice in Wonderland actor opened up that he and his ex-wife Vanessa Paradis “lived in that hospital for a good three, three and-a-half weeks” while their daughter was sick.

“Tim, of course, being Tim, came by the day after I called and brought flowers, the great uncle and godfather that he is… Pretty special, very lucky,” added Johnny.
