Chris Pratt reflects on harrowing challenges while filming ‘Mercy’
Chris Pratt calls LAPD ‘heroes’ after getting to know the trauma they endure
Chris Pratt recounted his time on the set of Mercy and the emotional toll it had on him.
The Guardians of the Galaxy star opened up about the new challenges he faced as he prepared for the film, where he stars as detective Chris Raven who has limited time to uncover the truth about his wife’s death after being blamed for her murder.
During his appearance at the New York Con, he admitted that the most difficult part of working on Mercy, was spending time with the law enforcing officers to gain deeper understating of his character.
"I had an opportunity to work with the LAPD and their homicide division and so I was able to go down and talk to those guys," he said. "It was really incredible. I mean some of the stunt work we did was really great."
He further said the most demanding aspect of his time on set was "hearing some of these stories and wow, it's a real testament."
Pratt also lauded the cops as "heroes" for enduring "the trauma they see on a day to day basis is really really staggering."
In addition to Pratt, the film also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Annabella Wallis, Chris Sullivan, Kali Reis and many more.
Mercy is slated for release in theatres on January 23, 2026.
