Leighton Meester and Adam Brody might be husband and wife in real life, but their characters in Nobody Wants This season 2 meet each other for the first time, and seeing them switch up was “trippy” for Justine Lupe.
Lupe, 36, shared that it was “very sweet” to see her co-star Brody, 45, interacting with his wife, 39, on set, who joined them for a guest appearance this season.
The Succession star said, “They’re such a loving couple with each other. There’s clearly so much affection between them. It was very sweet to see the level of support that they each gave each other on set,” in conversation with People Magazine.
Talking about her reaction to seeing them act, Lupe noted, “It’s also kind of trippy to see them pretending to meet each other for the first time, and you’re like, ‘Whoa. You guys are so intimate.’”
The lovebirds who star as Noah and Abby in the show tied the knot back in 2014 and are parents to two children.
The Frances Ha actress added that having Meester on set was a “treat,” and was brilliant on the show.
“Leighton, she’s just so fun, and goofy, and unafraid, and just dove right into a pretty far-out character without any abandon, and was very goofy,” Lupe said.
