McKenna Grace opened up about being taken by surprise on the set of Regretting You after an encounter with co-star Dave Franco.
Grace plays Clara Gaunt, the teenage daughter of Morgan Grant (Allison Williams) and Franco stars as Jonah Sullivan, a key figure tied to Grant’s family past and Morgan’s story.
In an interview with the CinemaBlend, she told the outlet that when France transformed into a teenager for a flashback scene, he walked by on set wearing a wig and she was unable to recognise him.
"I was standing there kind of just, like, out of it, and all of a sudden I see somebody run by in a little white tank top and blond hair," Grace said. "I was like, ‘Whose teenage son is on set?’ And they run past me, and I’m like, ‘That’s Dave Franco!’ "
The Young Sheldon star said that he gave her a “Jump scare” adding that, “it was like the first version of the wig that he’s still so embarrassed of that you can’t find a photo of it anywhere.”
Grace continued, “He, like, buried this wig — it was ridiculous. But that was so funny. I laugh every time I watch it. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, it’s them.’ "
The film also stars Mason Thames as Miller Adam and love interest of Clara Grant.
Regretting You, based on author Colleen Hoover's 2019 novel, which follows Clara, whose relationship with her mother grows strained after a car accident kills both Clara's father (Scott Eastwood) and Morgan's sister Jenny (Willa Fitzgerald).
Regretting You is set to release in theatres on October 24.
