Bugonia cast, along with tackling the theories in the film, also dabble in some of the off-screen conspiracy theories they believe in.
In the film, Emma Stone plays a high-profile CEO Michelle Fuller, who is abducted by a conspiratorial beekeeper, Teddy (Jesse Plemons), and his cousin (Aiden Delbis) after they were convinced that she is an alien.
During its premiere in New York City, the Amazing Spider-Man actress in conversation with Variety shared her and her co-star Plemos off-screen conspiracy theory.
"Well, Jesse has one that he’s really been harping on," she said. "Did he tell you already?"
When asked to share his favourite conspiracy theory, Plemons didn't said, "Birds aren't real. Which is true. Not real."
"Yeah, the birds," Stone laughed. "The birds aren’t real. I mean, I believe birds are real."
The Oscar winner continued explaining her theory, saying, "But it is interesting walking around New York now with so many birds and thinking, 'What if all of pigeons right here, right now were little drones?'"
In addition to Stone, Plemos and Delbis, Alicia Silverstone stared as Sandy Gatz, Teddy’s mother and Stavros Halkias as Casey, a local police officer drawn into unfolding events.
Bugonia is set to be released in selected theatres on Friday and then worldwide premiere on October 31.
