Elizabeth Olsen builds her own acting career despite sisters’ fame
‘WandaVision’ star makes shocking revelation about her acting career
Elizabeth Olsen has recently revealed she carved out her own career path despite her sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen fame.
The WandaVision actress explains how she managed to build her own acting career without relying on her older sisters’ connections.
While speaking to InStyle, Elizabeth recalls, “I wanted to be a child actor but then my ballet teacher wouldn't put me in The Nutcracker because I'd missed so many rehearsals.”
She mentions that was the only production of The Nutcracker that she missed because she was “auditioning for TV or movies”.
“I wanted to have the career I have now but I didn’t need to do it until later,” continues the 36-year-old.
When asked why she didn’t follow her sisters’ example and pursue her acting career like her older sisters.
Elizabeth jokingly replies, “I wanted to do recess with my friends.”
However, the Avengers actress points out that she did have a few cameos in her older sisters’ movies like 1994’s How the West Was Fun.
Interestingly, it wasn’t until 2011 when Elizabeth carved her own name as an actress after her film Martha Marcy May Marlene debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.
Elsewhere in the interview, Elizabeth reflects on her early acting days.
“I made some decisions, sometimes working with, like, maybe not the most curated group of people,” states the actress.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth adds she “didn't realise I have the power of curation. I was so excited anyone wanted me to be in anything”.
