Jennifer Aniston gets honest about pursuing acting despite dad’s warning
‘Friends’ alum explains why her father was against her acting career even though he was an actor himself
Jennifer Aniston has recently revealed she pursued acting career despite her father’s warning.
The Friends alum, who is the daughter of actor John Aniston, best known for ‘Days of Lives’, talked about her dad’s disagreement when she decided her career in entertainment industry just like John.
“My dad was telling me, 'Please don't do this, you're just going to suffer rejection,’” recalled Jennifer while speaking to hosts Dax Shepard and Monica Padman on latest episode of the Armchair Expert podcast on October 20.
Murder Mystery actress shared that her father said to her, “Just go get a job. Like, get a real job. All the cliché things.”
However, Jennifer had already made the decision and she didn’t go back.
“Whatever drives you, if you find passion in something and you love it, go do it,” said the 56-year-old.
Elsewhere in the interview, Jennifer also reflected on “nepo baby” debate in Hollywood.
“I mean, look at all the law firms. Blanky Blank Blanky and Blanky Blank. I mean, all right, isn't that a version of it's all in the family? It's all in the family,” continued The Morning Show actress.
Jennifer pointed out, “So, maybe you got into a door because you are so-and-so's kid, but if you suck, guess what? You're not going to continue to do it.”
Interestingly, the Horrible Bosses actress added she could give anything for her dad’s attention notably after her parents’ divorce when she was nine.
