Colman Domingo to voice Cowardly Lion in 'Wicked' sequel

Colman Domingo has officially joined the star cast of the upcoming sequel of Wicked.

Taking it to Instagram, the 55-year-old dropped a small video with stuffed lions teasing his role in Wicked: For Good.

The actor said in the video, “See you in Oz”, concluding the clip with a wink.

Colman confirmed that he will be voicing the "Cowardly Lion" in the forthcoming musical fantasy starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

The news came after director Jon M. Chu teased in a Thursday interview with Deadline that people will go ‘wild’ when they find out who is voicing the character.

According to Chu, a major Hollywood actor will be stepping on the red carpet.

Ever since, Domingo has been announced as the cast member of the upcoming installment of Wicked, fans have been going crazy.

They were surprised to see that the makers revealed this big news before the premiere.

“Surprised they shared this before the premiere, but I am so thrilled”, wrote a fan.

Meanwhile, another commented, “When Jon M. Chu said we would freak out over the voice he was not lying. Im Obsessulated.”

Many people are relieved with this new casting as they were not happy when they heard the rumours of James Corden playing "Cowardly Lion".

“Ok, it’s confirmed the lion is not James Corden or Lin. Now y’all can sleep”, a social media user wrote.

Backed by Universal Pictures, Wicked: For Good is slated to hit theatres globally on November 21.
