Antonio Banderas’ daughter makes dad proud with special nod at wedding
Antonio Banderas shares a daughter Stella Banderas with former wife Melanie Griffith
Antonio Banderas couldn’t be more proud of his daughter Stella Banderas after she gave a special nod to her father.
Stella, who was born in Spain but raised in Los Angeles, chose her wedding destination with both herself and her father in mind.
The 29-year-old wanted her wedding to be in Spain to feel connected to her father’s roots in Málaga, however, she ended up selecting neither her father’s home city nor her own, both of which are located in Spain’s Andalusia region. Instead, she chose the Castilla region.
Antonio received this heartfelt tribute from his daughter, whom he welcomed with former wife Melanie Griffith, as she embarked on a new chapter of life with childhood sweetheart Alex Gruszynski.
“I feel so lucky to be getting married in the country where I was born,” Stella told Hola! Magazine as her father shared that "having her get married in Spain fills me with pride."
"This is her way of reconnecting with her roots and sharing her homeland with her future husband and his family," the doting father of the bride said.
The proud dad added "I get to be the father of the bride and it’s a role I take on with all the emotion in the world."
The Babygirl star attended his daughter’s nuptials on October 18 in a lavish Spanish ceremony, where he was seen raising a wine glass to toast the newlyweds.
Antonio looked dashing in a classic black tuxedo, smiling as he soaked in the emotional moment.
Mother of the bride and her daughter Dakota Johnson were also in attendance, but were not photographed.
