Mark Ruffalo recounted the moment he saved his Now You See Me co-star from a fight at a bar.
Ruffalo stars as FBI agent trying to capture the group of talented illusionists called Four Horseman, led by charismatic magician Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg). Harrelson plays as one of the Horseman's, Merritt McKinney, the mentalist and hypnotist, in the group.
During the latest episode of Where Everybody Knows Your Name podcast, the Task actor recalled what went down at the bar in New Orleans.
"We were shooting Now You See Me in New Orleans, completely on the streets. Totally wild," he said. "Capturing stuff on a long lens, getting dragged into bars during the middle of a scene, like in the middle of Mardi Gras."
Ruffalo shared that after filming wrapped for the day, he and Harrelson stayed out and went to a "packed place" to grab a drink.
Once settled in the bar, a woman came to Harreslon showering her love for him.
"Woody put his hand on her arm and he said, 'Oh, thank you. Thank you, darling,' he shared. “And this guy comes over and he pushes her outta the way, and he shoves Woody. Bad. Because Woody’s first response is not ‘shove someone back,’ but ‘immediately punch them in the face.'"
Which Ruffalo admitted was the "right thing to do".
Soon enough the brawl broke out in the bar, Ruffalo recalled being "in the middle of it and it was turning into a - it was getting to become a whole thing… And I grabbed [Woody]."
He explained that it could have been "fun", but noted "it also just could go so disastrously wrong because you and I might be able to handle ourselves but the rest of the folks we were with ... I don’t think so."
In addition to Ruffalo, Harrelson and Eisenberg, the franchise also includes, Mélanie Laurent, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco and Morgan Freeman.
Now You See Me: Now You Don’t is slated for release in theatres on November 14.
