Rebecca Ferguson weighs in on playing villain in James Bond films
Rebbecca stars as Lady Jessica in Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune: Part Three’
Rebecca Ferguson shared her thoughts on becoming the next villain in James Bond films.
The Mission: Impossible star, who is reprising her role as Lady Jessica in Denis Villeneuve helmed Dune: Part Three, talked about the possibility of joining Bon franchise.
In an interview with The Times, Rebecca said, "I love the Bonds, most of them, but I often found that they weren't very good at writing for women."
The Silo actress added, "We haven't had a female Bond villain. I already said that to Denis — 'Female Bond villain, b--ch!' He was like, 'Oh là là.'"
Ferguson also admitted that she since for years she has played Ilsa in the Mission: Impossible franchise, and was a strong counterpart to Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise). Hence, if she ever enters the Bond universe, she will probably play anything but a "Bond girl."
So far, all that's been confirmed is Villeneuve as director and Steven Knight as writer, while fans wait for the next titular hero to be announced
Previously, some news outlet has reported that Tom Holland and Jacob Elordi are being eyed as potential frontrunners. Meanwhile Deadline has reported that whoever is cast in the coveted role will be an "unknown" British actor.
