Maggie Gyllenhaal opens up about her years-long marriage to Peter Sarsgaard

Maggie Gyllenhaal has recently offered rare insight into her relationship with fellow actor and husband Peter Sarsgaard.

The Donnie Darko star, who tied the knot with Peter in 2009, revealed the secret behind her years-long marriage.

“I love talking to him about what he's thinking about and what he's up against,” said the 47-year-old in a new interview with the Sunday Times.

Maggie, shares two daughters with Peter, mentioned that they have been together for a long time.

“I can feel when he has had enough of talking to me about whatever I'm talking about that day,” disclosed the Secretary actress.

Maggie told the outlet, “We can feel each other out, like don't talk about work right now, he doesn't care, he just wants to have dinner.”

Earlier, speaking to PEOPLE, Peter also reflected on his long marriage to Maggie.

“We take turns in terms of our work. I think that's one of the things that you just sort of have to do is let someone have their dance and then you take your dance,” explained the Orphan star.

Peter added, “There is great value in that.”

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Maggie is all set for her second directorial project, The Bride! set to release in theatres in 2026.

The upcoming movie stars Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley and later Peter will join the A-list cast as well.
