"Impossible to talk about this," the 42-year-old actor began, holding back tears. "I think for anyone [she was] just a legend, an icon and artist extraordinaire."

Struggling to speak further, he added, "just one of the most important artists of the last 100 years and beyond an inspiration. It's impossible to talk about it to be honest."

The Social Network actor was joined by his After the Hunt co-star Eyo Edebiri, who also expressed her grief, saying she was "shocked and gutted" by the news.

"I was literally rewatching and talking about the 'You Don’t Own Me' scene from The First Wives Club just two or three days ago,” Edebiri shared during an interview with Associated Press. "That moment is still so resonant in so many ways."

As of now, no official cause of death has been disclosed, with Keaton’s family requesting privacy during this difficult time.

Tributes have continued to pour in from across Hollywood, with heartfelt messages from Leonardo DiCaprio, Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Steve Martin, Reese Witherspoon, Robert De Niro, and director Francis Ford Coppola and more.

Keaton was known for her iconic roles in films such as Annie Hall, The Godfather trilogy, The First Wives Club, and Something's Gotta Give, among many others.
