The Bring It On actress went on to praise Tatum for his work in the true-crime-drama.

Dunst said that she is familiar with his work and has admired him in so many films for his uniqueness and depth.

"He's such a genuine person. He's such a kind guy. And he's so talented," she added. "And I'm just really excited for people to see him in this movie, in this role."

Based on a true story, the Derek Cianfrance-directed film follows Jeffrey (Tatum), a "former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing a [fast food chain] restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman."

The film follows the period after he escaped prison, in which he secretly lived inside a Toys 'R' Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move.

However the story takes a turn when he falls for Leigh (Dunst), a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm. The double life begins to unravel his past catches up to him in a suspenseful game of cat and mouse.

In addition to Dunst and Tatum, Peter Dinklage, LaKeith Stanfield, Ben Mendelsohn, Juno Temple and Uzo Aduba, are part of the star cast.

The Roofman is now running in theatres.
