'Last Summer in the Hamptons' director Henry Jaglom dies at 87

Henry Jaglom, who wrote and directed A Safe Place, Eating, Last Summer in the Hamptons and Déjà Vu, has passed away at the age of 87.
His daughter Sabrina Jaglom, who is also a film maker, confirmed that her father breathed his last on Monday night, September 22, at his home in Santa Monica.
"My dad was the most loving, fun, entertaining and unique father and the biggest cheerleader and champion anyone could be lucky enough to have," she said in a heartfelt tribute in the wake of his passing.
"Truly one of a kind," she continued. "He lived his entire life exactly the way he wanted to, and encouraged everyone else to do the same."
"We all admire him, and he will be greatly missed," Sabrina concluded the statement, given to The Hollywood Reporter.
The late director was widely known for crafting deeply intimate and unconventional films that explored the intricacies of relationships and the quirkiness of human behaviour.
He was credited as the writer-director of the following projects as well: Sitting Ducks (1980), Can She Bake a Cherry Pie? (1983), New Year’s Day (1989).
His inspiration was his own experiences which made his work feel all the more personal and true to life.
In addition to Sabrina, who wrote and directed the 2022 thriller Jane, Henry is survived by his son, Simon (middle name: Orson).
The late moviemaker shared both of his kids with his former wife Foyt, who often appeared in his films. In addition his older brother Michael Emil, who died in 2019, also got featured in his films.
