Diddy’s family and friends urge for leniency ahead of sentencing
Sean Diddy is scheduled to sentence on October 3
Sean Diddy Combs have been trying hard to convince the judge to release him ahead of his sentencing.
The American rapper was arrested back in September 2024 after being convicted of sexual harassment and two charges of transportation to engage in prostitution.
Since his arrest, his lawyers applied for bail multiple times, but Judge Subramanian denied it everytime.
Prosecutors involved in the case previously said that Diddy should face a minimum of four to five years of imprisonment.
Earlier on Monday, the 55-year-old Record producer’s lawyers said that the court’s probation department’s suggestion of 70 to 87 months in prison is infected with errors and “grossly overstates the seriousness of the offense.”
Now ahead of his sentencing on October 3, his friends and family are urging the federal judge via letters for leniency in his sentence.
His mother wrote in of the letters, “I don’t know how much longer I will be around, but I would love to be able to see him and his children together again.”
Combs’ lawyers are also trying hard to get leniency in his sentence as they say, “Since tapering off Xanax, quitting alcohol, and illicit substances, his angry actions have disappeared.”
On the other hand, Diddy’s adopted sister also wrote a letter to the judge mentioning that sobriety has helped his behaviour a lot and she has seen positive affects in him.
“The dark veil of addiction, confusion, and the chaos of his life is gone.”
His family is urging the federal judge to consider his personal growth and positive personality traits before making any decision.
