America’s Got Talent Season 20 has officially come to a close after the winner has been announced.

On Wednesday night, September 24, Jessica Sanchez emerged victorious, taking home the coveted title and the $1 million grand prize.

She beat out fellow finalist freestyle rapper Chris Turner in the live finale, becoming the champion of the milestone 20th season.

The new winner made her way to the top 10 with consistently stunning performances and eventually delivered a show-stopping finale rendition of Die With A Smile, a duet by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, that left both the judges and audience in awe.

The emotional moment came when host Terry Crews announced her as the winner. Overwhelmed with joy, the 30-year-old broke down in tears, saying, "I'm sorry, I'm really emotional, this is amazing. Thank you so much!"

Her journey to the top was nothing short of remarkable. Sanchez first appeared on AGT nearly 20 years ago as a 10-year-old contestant during the show’s inaugural season.

Now, two decades later, she returned to the stage, this time, competing during the final weeks of her first pregnancy.

Before the winner was revealed, Sanchez said, "This has been 20 years in the making. This would mean everything."

Notably, this achievement was a significant moment for judge Sofía Vergara as well, since she was the one who gave the American singer her Golden Buzzer during the auditions.

Vergara said in the auditions to her “I feel like it was all clicking… ‘I’m pregnant, and I was here 20 years ago,’ and we’re on the 20th season and then she sang the way she did. I mean, you deserve it!"
