Miranda Cosgrove recalls tough switch from ‘Drake & Josh’ to ‘iCarly’
Miranda Cosgrove talks aboit difficult transition between her iconic roles of evil Megan and sweet Carly
Miranda Cosgrove opened up about the difficulties she faced while transitioning between two of her most iconic roles, going from the mischievous Megan in Drake & Josh to the lovable Carly Shay in iCarly.
Known for her breakout role as the cunning younger sister on Drake & josh, the former Nickelodeon star, admitted that it was an enjoyable experience playing such a devious character. "It was really fun to be very evil," she said of her time as Megan.
However, stepping into a completely different role just a few years later came with challenges. As the lead in iCarly, Cosgrove played Carly, a bubbly, sweet-natured teen and most importantly the complete opposite of Megan.
It took the then child actor a bit to adjust to the new role. "I was really nervous when I started iCarly because I was going from playing this evil character that I felt very comfortable playing," she shared during the interview series Collider Ladies Night to discuss her acting journey.
For the unversed, iCarly went on to air for six seasons. It was rebooted in 2021 and ran for three seasons on Paramount+ before getting canceled in 2023.
Despite the end of the revival, Cosgrove, 32, gave fans something to look forward to by confirming that an iCarly movie is currently in development to resolve the final season’s cliffhanger.
