Millie Bobby Brown bags role in new movie after adopting baby girl
Millie Bobby Brown recently welcomed baby girl with husband Jake Bongiovi
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is embarking on an exciting new chapter, juggling her acting career with first-time motherhood, having recently adopted a baby girl this summer with her husband, Jake Bongiovi.
The young actress is reportedly in final talks to take on the role of Olympian Kerri Strug in the biopic Perfect, which centers on the inspiring U.S. women’s gymnastics team from the 1996 Summer Games.
Adding another layer of Hollywood prestige, Gia Coppola, granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, is in negotiations to direct the film.
Millie, 21, has always been clear about her goals of both a bustling career and a family.
Earlier this year, she shared her goals, "I want to focus on really establishing myself as an actor and as a producer, but I also find it’s so important to start a family."
She explained on the Smartless podcast that her and Jake's desire for a large family stems from both of them being "one of four" children in their respective families, confirming a family is "definitely in our future."
Furthermore, she noted her openness to adoption, stating, "I don't see having your own child as really any different as in adopting. For me, my home is full of love for anyone and anything."
The couple, who married in 2024, share a similar view on having a welcoming home, "That is what we kind of stand by—Jake and I—is our energy in the house is the door is always open. We want everyone to feel really comfortable."
Meanwhile, rock legend Jon Bon Jovi, Jake’s father, is absolutely delighted with his new role as a grandfather.
Speaking to Bunnie XO on TikTok, the 63-year-old opened up about his son and daughter-in-law's decision to adopt.
“It’s crazy, but great. Wonderful,” he said with a smile.
The rocker has fully embraced the doting grandpa role, gushing, “They adopted a girl, we met the baby obviously and immediately that becomes your grandchild, you know what I mean? Your baby.”
He admitted he’s already "that pain in the b*tt guy" who constantly asks for updates. “It’s beautiful. I want to see pictures, like, every other day.”
