Jeremy Clarkson surprised fans this week by unveiling a new project connected to his Hawkstone brand.
The television personality, who marked Back British Farming Day with the launch, introduced a mobile game that highlighted the struggles of farm life in a playful way.
The game, titled Beer Farmer, allowed players to take on the role of Clarkson in his wellies and experience a digital version of life at Diddly Squat Farm.
Tasks included harvesting barley, herding cows, gathering manure, escaping scarecrows, and steering clear of storms and wasps.
Hawkstone explained that the challenges were created as a lighthearted reminder of the demanding work carried out by British farmers.
Speaking about the release, Clarkson said, “I’ve always said farming is hard, but it turns out this farming game is almost as difficult.
In some ways it’s worse because the wasps are the size of spaniels.” He added that while it was entertaining, the game also showed the effort behind every drink produced by Hawkstone.
Players who succeeded in the virtual challenges were rewarded with a digital pint of Hawkstone and a 15 percent discount code to use on the brand’s official website.
The game became available to play for free on September 10.
Clarkson, who rose to fame through Top Gear, has spent recent years building a career in farming and drinks production.
