Channing Tatum reveals biggest mistake of his career
Channing Tatum hopes to work with THIS director one day
Channing Tatum looks back into his career’s biggest regrets.
During an interview with Vanity Fair, the Blink Twice star shared his biggest career regret was to turning down a role in Guillermo del Toro's adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.
The actor elucidated that he had been approached by del Toro to star in the film, but he had to decline due to personal and professional circumstances.
"I'd just had a baby, I was on a movie that was absolutely killing me, and the script wasn't totally there yet," Tatum said.
"I was just in a place in my head that I was like, 'I don't think I can do this right now.'" Tatum added that he was a huge fan of del Toro's work and that the film would have been a unique and exciting project.
"It was the biggest mistake, because I'm the biggest Guillermo fan ever. And I think Guillermo doing Beauty and the Beast would've been the sickest movie ever," he said.
However, Del Toro’s adaptation of Beauty and the Beast never completed and the film later on was eventually directed by Bill Condon in 2017.
Tatum expressed his regret over missing out on the opportunity, saying "I'll probably never forgive myself on that one, but I hope we get to work together one day."
Despite the missed opportunity, Tatum has had a successful career in Hollywood, starring in films like Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street.
