Michael Caine shares real reason behind his acting comeback
English iconic actor announced his retirement from acting back in 2023
Michael Caine has recently shared real reason behind his acting comeback.
The legendary actor decided to come out of retirement because of the upcoming The Last Witch Hunter 2 with one and only Vin Diesel.
Interestingly, Caine is likely to reprise his role as Dolan from the 2015 movie, Last Witch Hunter.
In the first movie, the actor was a priest by profession who assisted Diesel’s warrior Kaulder as he fought to stop a plague spread by a witch queen.
Variety confirmed that the sequel is being produced by Lionsgate and Diesel’s production company, One Race Films.
In a press statement, Adam Fogelson, group chair at Lionsgate Motion Picture discussed the sequel’s development.
“The Last Witch Hunter has grown since its theatrical release into a global fan favourite, with audiences continuing to discover and rewatch it across every platform over the past decade. That enduring enthusiasm made clear there is an appetite for more stories set in this world,” said Adam.
He added, “Vin and I have partnered many times over the years, and he is a true force in our industry.”
Adam expressed his excitement to be reuniting with Diesel as he returns to this iconic role, adding, “how advancements in moviemaking technology now allow us to economically deliver a sequel on an even more ambitious scale”.
Meanwhile, this upcoming sequel will mark Caine’s first movie after announcing his retirement from acting in 2023 at the age of 90.
