Angelina Jolie gives her honest take on ‘Couture’ movie

Angelina Jolie has recently shared her honest take on her latest movie, Couture movie.

The actress, who plays the role of Maxine Walker, a breast cancer patient, in the new movie, opened up that this movie felt so private to her and even didn’t feel like a movie to her.

While speaking to Los Angeles Times at the Toronto International Film Festival, Angelina reflected that this movie brought forward the “idea of exchanging creatives with another creatives”.

The Maleficent actress noted that this movie talked about cancer, so “it was very personal” to her.

“I think for anybody watching whether you have dealt with cancer or anything in your life you had this moment,” mentioned the 50-year-old.

Angelina noted that sometimes after going through a serious illness, people tend to think their life is over.

However, the Tomb Raider star pointed out that it’s “quite a sad movie, a hard movie when you deal with life-threatening diseases”.

“A lot of people who have cancer have said that they feel like that’s all people talk about,” she remarked.

Elaborating on why this movie is important to her, Angelina stated that this movie “helped” her “in reading it to remind” herself and hopefully remind others that this is when you can feel most alive.

“This is when you confront the fragility and also you can fall in love with life again. You decide to live through it,” said the Mr & Mrs Smith actress.

Although Couture is not a biopic, the movie resonates of Angelina’s own health journey.

In another interview with Variety, Angelina discussed the environment on the set, saying, “I have always found the heaviest movies tend to have the most loving sets.”

“There’s something quite comforting about having real conversations and having real feelings with a shared community,” she added.
