Prince William and Princess Kate were met with an unexpected yet welcome visitor as they made their grand return to royal duties after nearly two months.
On Thursday, September 4, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited the Natural History Museum to see the newly transformed gardens and witness the impact of the National Education Nature Park programme for the youth.
But during their visit, the royal couple were caught by surprise as rain started pouring down.
“Mother Nature made a surprise cameo at the @natural_history_meuseum,” read an Instagram caption by the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram account, run by Kensington Palace.
The post was accompanied by beautiful images of the princess enjoying the weather, even offering the children shelter under her umbrella.
“Even with the rain, it was great seeing how the gardens and National Education Nature Park programme are helping young people to connect to nature, combining outdoor learning with wellbeing activities,” the caption continued.
“And a pleasure hearing from students of Kendar Primary in Lewisham and Co-op Academy Manchester about projects to support nature and biodiversity,” the post concluded.
The visit marked Kate and William’s first royal engagement since the summer holidays, which they spent in Greece and Scotland with their kids George, Charlotte, and Louis.
