Stephen King candidly share his thoughts about superhero movies.

The renowned author of horror and suspense novels has voiced his criticism of the way violence is depicted in superhero movies.

In a recent interview with The Times U.K., King expressed his disapproval of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Studios' approach to violence, stating that it's often unrealistic and lacking in gore.

"If you look at these superhero movies, you'll see... some supervillain who's destroying whole city blocks but you never see any blood," King said. "And man, that's wrong. It's almost, like, pornographic."

The author believes that too much inclusion of superficial things in the story not only compromise the story depiction but also detracts from the overall impact of the story.

King's latest adaptation, The Long Walk, takes a different approach to violence.

Based on his 1979 dystopian horror novel, the film follows a group of teenage boys competing in a deadly contest where they must maintain a certain walking speed to survive.

He insisted that the film show brutal violence, saying, "I said, if you're not going to show it, don't bother. And so they made a pretty brutal movie."

The movie, directed by Francis Lawrence and scripted by JT Mollner, promises to deliver a gritty and intense portrayal of violence.

The film's release on September 12 will give audiences a chance to experience King's vision of violence on the big screen.
