'Weapons' director breaks silence on his rumoured script about DC Joker, Harley Quinn
Zach Cregger confirms the next 'Resident Evil' film
Zach Cregger has finally responded to rumours about him preparing a script for DC involving Joker and Harley Quinn.
Following the release of Zach’s superhit film Weapons, there were speculations that he has written a screenplay for a Batman-based movie called, The Henchman.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the new film "would center on a low-level henchman in the Gotham crime world who gains notoriety after managing to incapacitate Batman through a stroke of luck."
Rumours had it the project will not only have an appearance of the Batman, but it will also include other significant DC characters including the Joker and Harley Quinn.
Reports also suggested that Cregger has shown his interest in becoming a part of DCU with this script, but he has not formally received a green light from CEO James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The Barbarian director has finally cleared the air about the rumours.
While making an appearance at Double Toasted, the 44-year-old said, “This is getting blown out of proportion online.”
He quashed down the gossips in a statement, saying, “It’s not a Joker and Harley Quinn script. I’ve not talked to James Gunn about it. I have (two films) in front of me. People have written a lot about it online, and not much of it is true.”
Zach revealed that he is busy directing the next Resident Evil.
