'SNL' adds new cast members after high-profile exits
'Saturday Night Live' announces new faces ahead of Season 51 in the wake of star exodus
Saturday Night Live welcomed new cast members ahead of season 51 premiere as several high profile names bid farewell to the iconic show.
On Tuesday, September 2, NBC announced that five new faces will join the upcoming season of the comedy sketch hot on the heels of the SNL exodus.
Reportedly, Ben Marshall, Jeremy Culhane, Kam Patterson, Tommy Brennan, and Veronika Slowikowska are the latest additions.
Marshall is a familiar face on SNL as he has been a staff writer since 2021 and has also appeared on-screen with his comedy trio Please Don't Destroy.
Culhane has appeared in The Sex Lives of College Girls and Heathers, while Patterson, known for his stand-up, will soon feature in Netflix's 72 Hours.
Morever, Brennan has a comedic background as he has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Slowikowska, meanwhile, is a TikTok star known for her viral comedy videos. She has nearly 700K followers on the social media platform and also appeared in FX's What We Do in the Shadows.
The new cast additions come on the heels of four recent departures of Devon Walker, Emil Wakim, Heidi Gardner, and Michael Longfellow, who confirmed their exits last week after celebrating SNL's 50th anniversary special together.
The 51st season of SNL is slated to premiere on October 4.
