Chris Martin sets tone with boundaries in music
Chris Martin takes internet by storm with recent confession
Chris Martin recently recalled a shocking memory from his teenage years.
The 48-year-old singer, who garnered recognition as the lead vocalist of Coldplay, revealed that he once refused to sing songs related to evil or the Devil.
During his recent appearance on the #ABTalks podcast, The Scientist hitmaker said, “There are a couple of songs when I was 15 that I wouldn’t sing. I was in a band and they wanted to do some covers and I said, ‘I don’t think I can sing that,’ because they were about evil or the Devil. Now I realise it was just a song.”
It is pertinent to mention that Coldplay’s music often reflects themes of faith and spirituality, as evident in tracks like We Pray, Fix You, Paradise, and Viva La Vida.
Earlier in 2021, Martin described himself as an alltheist – someone who believes God exists in everyone and everything.
In an exclusive conversation with Howard Stern, he explained, “My God, for me, is all things and all. God is everywhere and everyone and it’s also the unknowable, the vast majesty behind everything. And it’s just the point where you get to the place where you can’t think any further – that’s where I think God is.”
For the unversed, Martin released Coldplay’s tenth studio album, Moon Music, on October 4, 2024.
