Sydney Sweeney’s pal Patrick Schwarzenegger shows support amid backlash

Sydney Sweeney has been under criticism since her “great jeans” ad which went viral and exposed her political stance but her friend Patrick Schwarzenegger still supports her.

The 27-year-old actress took to Instagram on Friday, August 22, to share insights into her movie, Eden, with behind the scenes shots of herself and her castmates.

The Euphoria star, who has not addressed the backlash surrounding her or defended herself, tagged her costars in the pictures.

In the caption Sweeney wrote, “eden by director @realronhoward, bts shot by me :) and if it’s me in it then it’s probably shot by @kaymcgreg lol.”

Schwarzenegger, 31, who is a friend to Sweeney, showed his subtle support for the actress by dropping a “like” on her recent post.

The Anyone But You actress and the White Lotus star have been spotted out and about together multiple times and openly support each other on social media.

Sweeney became a target for backlash with her recent ad campaign with American Eagle, in which she talks about blue eyes, blonde hair as great genetic traits, passed down from parents to children.

Due to the word “jeans” which could be a wordplay for “genes,” the ad was accused of being white supremacist and promoting eugenics.
