Regina King reveals life-changing lesson she learned after son’s demise

Regina King has recently learned one life-changing lesson three years after the tragic demise of her son, Ian Desduné.

The Jerry Maguire actress explained how her outlook on life has changed in a cover story for Haute Living Los Angeles published on August 21.

Regina revealed she has understood that sadness and happiness can be happening at the same time.

Regina, who stars in the new Darren Aronofsky movie Caught Stealing, noted, “I one thousand percent live in the moment more.”

“I don’t know if that’s something that just comes with time, or with pain, or with the pandemic — probably all of it. But I feel it,” said the 54-year-old.

Elsewhere in the interview, Regina shared the real reason behind launching the orange wine, MianU.

The Seven Seconds star mentioned that she started this wine business to keep her son Ian’s memory alive.

“His art, his creativity — it’s all in there. It was kind of an epiphany I had that came from a place of continuing to create memories in Ian’s spirit,” she told the outlet.

Regina pointed out that she’s “surrounded by people talking about their children — engagements, weddings, new chapters”.

“I still love talking about Ian: I just don’t have the chance to create new memories in the way they do,” remarked the Rituals actress.

However, Regina stated that she’s “not focused on that. This is my way of creating something new, together”.

The actress admitted that she always thinks of her late son whenever she’s pouring a glass of wine.

"I’m thinking of him 24/7 anyway, but always in this moment, I can see his face,” admitted Regina.

The actress added that her son “will never be forgotten. If you see me, you see Ian”.
