James Marsden, who played the popular Cyclops character in the X-Men film series, has finally shared about his return to the universe in Avengers: Doomsday.
The 51-year-old portrayed the hero since 2000 until his character’s death in the 2006 X-Men movie.
After years, the Notebook actor is all set return to the Marvel universe to reprise the titular role in the upcoming Avengers film.
While talking about his comeback, Marsden said that he is getting a "little long in the tooth to put on the superhero costume", but he feels grateful to be back.
He told Vanity Fair, “I was excited because you're a part of something gigantic, and I've spent 20 years listening to people say, ‘When are you coming back? When are you coming back? Are you coming back?’ I'm dead. Well, maybe not.”
“I'm going to have a tough time struggling to get into costume if they waited a couple more years.”
The Paradise star added that he had a blast stepping into his old character for Doomsday.
“It was the first real event project that I was ever a part of, and a very beloved character, this icon from the comics. And so to step back into that role was pretty special”, said James.
Directed Russo Brothers, the 2026 action sci-fi is set to bring together Robert Downey Jr, Tom Hiddleston, Pedro Pascal, Alan Cumming and many others.
