Adam Sandler nearly passed on Eminem cameo in 'Happy Gilmore 2'

Adam Sandler was reluctant to involve Eminem in Happy Gilmore 2 for a cameo.

Among the slew of cameos in the Happy Gilmore Sequel, from Taylor Swift’s beau Travis Kelce’s to Sandler’s real-life mother, wife and two daughters, the Rap God maker’s on screen appearance was a pure joy for the fans.

However in a recent interview at The Dan Patrick Show, the former Saturday Night Live member revealed he almost skipped the Mockingbird rapper’s cameo.

"I love Eminem. I’m friends with Eminem, but I don’t want to bother the man," he admitted he hates bugging his friends for cameos, and was reluctant to reach out to Eminem, real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III.

The Grown Ups star went on to share how he got Slim Shady to be involved with the anticipated Netflix sequel.

"And everybody kept saying, 'Man, Eminem would be so funny in this part.' I was like, 'I don’t want to ruin this guy’s time. He’s hanging out. He’s in Detroit. He’s doing his life making records,'" he recalled.

Eventually, the comedian, 58, was convinced by others. "Let me bug Marshall and give him a call and say, 'Dude, I know it’s a pain in the a**, but it’s pretty funny. You mind shooting out to us for a day?'" to which the rap icon obliged, apparently saying "Yeah, send me the stuff."

Notably, Happy Gilmore is not the first time Sandler and Eminem have shared the screen, the duo co-starred in 2009’s Funny People after first meeting at an SNL afterparty.
