Lindsay Lohan has recently revealed that she moved to Dubai to live a normal life away from spotlight and paparazzi.
The Mean Girls star explained that she felt suffocated while constantly living under media scrutiny.
After tying the knot with Bader Shammas, Lindsay preferred leaving Los Angeles and moved her base to Dubai in 2014.
“It’s just far away from Hollywood. And I live a very normal life,” admitted the 39-year-old during an appearance on LIVE with Kelly and Mark.
Parent Trap actress pointed out that there’s “no worry of like; I can’t go eat at this place because someone’s going to take a picture of my son. It’s just, I feel very safe”.
Lindsay told Kelly and Mark that there’s no paparazzi culture in Dubai and people are not allowed to take pictures without consent.
While praising the city’s vibe, Lindsay mentioned, “You can’t even take a picture of someone else if you’re at a restaurant. You have to ask the person. Which is a big difference.”
“The privacy is unique,” she added.
This is not the first time Lindsay expressed her concerns over media scrutiny.
Back in May, speaking to Elle magazine, the Irish Wish actress noted that it’s hard living in LA as she can’t take her son to the park.
However, in Dubai, Lindsay revealed that she “gets the privacy, peace and the space”.
“I feel safe,” she confessed.
Meanwhile, Lindsay also shared that after returning to the big screen, she’s realised that prioritising herself “makes a huge difference” in her overall well-being.
“Family is also a priority,” but it’s “all about keeping a balance” between family and career, noted the actress.
Lindsay’s new movie Freakier Friday is set to release in theatres on August 8.
