Kingsman actor Taron Egerton has addressed the chances of him playing James Bond in the next film.

Earlier this year, original producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson stepped down as producers, handing over the creative control to Amazon MGM.

Since then, the makers have been on a hunt for the new 007 star following the departure of Daniel Craig.

Egerton, in a latest interview, ruled himself out of playing James Bond as he believes he is “too messy” for the character.

He thinks that there are many new actors who could be ready to take the challenge.

Taron told Collider, “I think I’m too messy for that. I think I’m not [the right fit]— I really love James Bond and particularly Daniel Craig’s tenure.”

“But I think I wouldn’t be good at it, and I think there’s so many cool, younger actors who would be great for it. I think it would be wasted on me, probably.”

The Carry-On actor revealed that even though nobody’s has asked him yet to do the role, yet he feels the offer won’t possibly make him the “happiest.”

“It kind of consumes your life, a role like that”, confessed the 35-year-old star.

Egerton is currently looking forward to the release of his upcoming movie, She Rides Shotgun.
