Gwyneth Paltrow’s biography drops bombshell about Carolyn Bessette rift

Gwyneth Paltrow and Carolyn Bessette could never be friends even though they were both famous and part of many of the same circles.

The 53-year-old actress’ upcoming unofficial biography, Gwyneth: The Biography, claims that the Shakespeare in Love star “irked” the future Mrs. Kennedy while the two were linked through Calvin Klein, where Bessette worked as a publicist and Paltrow was a celebrity client.

An excerpt obtained by Us Weekly reads, “Gwyneth said she had arranged for an appointment at Calvin Klein, where she had become a regular presence at the office One of the publicists on the brand’s small team who helped Gwyneth was Carolyn Bessette (who would go on to become Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy).”

“According to one person familiar with her thinking, Gwyneth irked her. When there were pictures of Gwyneth in the papers, Bessette, who viewed her as ‘little miss perfect,’ would make cutting remarks about her.”

Bessette, who went on to marry John F. Kennedy Jr. in 1996, made headlines all over the nation but the beloved couple died in a tragic plane crash in 1999.

The author, Amy Odell writes, that despite Bessette’s feelings towards the Seven actress, Calvin Klein celebrated her stardom since the early days of her career.

This comes after an insider revealed that Paltrow “isn’t too bothered,” about the biography which details her personal life. They added “been in the Hollywood game for a long time and so has a thick skin. This book isn’t a big deal for her.”
