Meghan and Harry’s marriage compared to history’s worst atrocities
Family Guy airs brutal Meghan and Harry joke in this week's episode
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have once again found themselves in the crosshairs of animated satire this time courtesy of Family Guy’s latest episode, which has sparked fresh controversy with its bold comparisons.
The American cartoon, known for its no-holds-barred humour, aired earlier this week and featured a scene where characters lament that "history pretty much sucks."
The dig didn’t go unnoticed. In the episode, an animated version of Harry is shown reacting from his sofa with an eye roll and an exasperated, “Oh, again?” before breaking the fourth wall to clap back: “Oh, like all your wives are so much better?”
The moment marks the latest in a string of animated jabs at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, as the couple continues to be a recurring punchline in pop culture commentary.
Whether seen as biting satire or crossing the line, the segment has certainly reignited debate about how far is too far when it comes to royal ridicule.
When Twain mentions working on a novel titled The Adventures of Hankenberry Flan, Brian corrects him, saying it's Huckleberry Finn.
Stewie then warns against altering the past, prompting Brian to quip: “You always say that, but doesn’t history pretty much suck? I mean the Crusades, Hitler?”
To which Stewie adds, deadpan: “Prince Harry marrying Meghan Markle?”
The jab is just the latest in a growing list of animated satire aimed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex since their 2020 departure from royal duties.
Among the most memorable was South Park’s 2023 episode, The Worldwide Privacy Tour, which brutally mocked the couple’s public image and media presence.
The parody featured “The Prince and Princess of Canada” demanding privacy while promoting a tell-all book titled Waaagh. Meghan was described as a “sorority girl, actress, influencer, and victim,” and Prince Harry was ridiculed as “the dumb prince” flying around on a private jet.
