Lily James recalled the intense training she went through for the Cliffhanger reboot.
The action thriller movie is a reboot and legacy sequel of 1993 film that starred Sylvester Stallone.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, with co-star Pierce Brosnan, the Cinderella actress said that while she "had the time of my life" making Jaume Collet-Serra’s flim, she admitted it was "so hard."
"I did five hours of climbing a day for many weeks. I was on mountains nonstop. I fell completely in love with it," she said. "It's the most mind-body-soul activity."
"And I'm a [mountain-climbing] addict now," the Baby Driver star added. "I did all my own climbing, and I got real strong. I was just pounding press-ups between every take."
James also took to her Instagram reflecting on her time in Austria shooting the film.
"First look image for CLIFFHANGER directed by Jaume Collet-Serra," she wrote.
James continued, "I have been having the time of my life nestled away in the mountains of Austria. I cannot wait to share what we have been working on with an unstoppable crew and epic cast; Pierce Brosnan, Nell Tiger Free, Franz Rogowski, Assaad Bouab, Shubham Saraf, Suzy Bemba, Bruno Gouery, Olivia Mae Barrett & Lorenzo de Moor."
"In this reboot of Cliffhanger, seasoned mountaineer Ray Cooper (Brosnan) and his daughter Sydney run a mountain chalet in the Dolomites," reads a synopsis.
The logline adds, "During a weekend trip with a billionaire's son, they are targeted by a gang of kidnappers. Ray's older daughter Naomi (James), still haunted by a past climbing accident, witnesses the attack and escapes."
James' character must "save her family" and "fight for survival in the Italian Dolomites," it concludes.
The Cliffhanger is slated for release on April 3, 2026.
