Jennifer Love Hewitt 'excited' to return to ‘9-1-1’ after Peter Krause's exit

Jennifer Love Hewitt recently opened up about her “heartbreaking” experience returning to 9-1-1 for its ninth season following Peter Krause’s exit.

The 46-year-old actress, known for her role in Ghost Whisperer, is currently gearing up for the new season of the 2018 drama.

In an exclusive conversation with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of I Know What You Did Summer (2025), Hewitt shared her feelings about returning to the set, saying, “I’m so excited. I mean it’s my favorite, I miss my people, I oddly miss crying everyday all day long, so I’m excited to do that again and see what emergencies we have.”

The Heartbreakers star also reflected on the departure of her co-star Peter, 59, who portrayed Captain Bobby Nash for eight seasons of 9-1-1.

Speaking to the outlet, she added, “I mean, sad, it’s not the same. Nothing is the same. But I do think that when you’re telling a story about first responders, unfortunately those are the things that happen. He was the person that mattered to everyone in the cast the most, so I felt like he was our hero, and he always will be.”

It is pertinent to mention that Captain Bobby Nash died from a deadly hemorrhagic fever following exposure to a virus at the end of season eight.

Following his exit, fans have begun speculating about the direction 9-1-1 will take in season nine.

Meanwhile, I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) was released on Thursday, July 17.

For the unversed, 9-1-1 season nine is slated to premiere on Thursday, October 16.
