‘High School Musical’ star details her first project after giving birth
Vanessa Hudgens has recently made a comeback to acting after becoming a mother.
The Second Act actress, who welcomed her first child with husband Cole Tucker in June 2024, has wrapped production on her movie, Quiet Storm.
Interestingly, the movie “takes place in the summer of 1969, as the infamous Hurricane Camille marks its tragic landfall”.
In this movie, Vanessa “plays a romance novelist trapped indoors during the storm as she struggles to cope with the reality of an ever-changing world,” per Deadline.
According to official synopsis, Quiet Storm, a dramatic thriller, explores “themes from the ’60s such as women’s liberation and the Black Power movement”.
The outlet reported that Anthony Thorne is making his directorial debut with the movie, which he also wrote. Not only that, Anthony is also starring in the movie as the husband of Vanessa‘s character.
Besides Vanessa, the star cast include Mira Sorvino, Seydou Maiga, Sophia Chapdelaine, Cody John, and Elysée Sanvillé.
Meanwhile, the High School Musical alum is also a lead producer along with her longtime friend Oliver Trevena, who is also a producer on the project.
Moreover, Nick Cassavetes is reportedly an executive producer.
